The Race to Capture the Carbon Pound – October 2008
This study was conducted by independent consultancy Vivid Economics in collaboration with New Energy Finance in October 2008. The research shows that UK SMEs in the UK are true innovators who are leading the way in development of cutting edge technology and reveals the top ten low carbon sectors attracting the most private equity investment into SMEs in the UK, as compared with the rest of Europe.

The Business Opportunities for SMEs in Tackling the Causes of Climate Change – October 2006
New research commissioned by Shell Springboard shows that the challenge of tackling climate change could create a market of up to £30bn for British business over the next ten years. The research, carried out by Vivid Economics, quantifies for the first time the potential size of the market for businesses that develop technologies, products and services that help combat climate change.

Small Business Attitudes to the Opportunity of Climate Change – October 2005
The report released by Shell Springboard shows that 87% of small businesses see climate change as an opportunity for British business, but only 19% see it as an opportunity for their own business. The report was launched by Lord Oxburgh, Chairman of the UK judging panel of Shell Springboard, at the fund’s launch event, “Climate Change: What’s it Worth?”. The report is based on research conducted by MORI during August and September 2005.

Shell Springboard was the focus of a special supplement in bi-monthly magazine Green Futures, a magazine from Forum for the Future. The supplement looks at the role of entrepreneurs in combating climate change.
