How It Works

Value proposition

Process

The 2019 Shell Springboard application window will launch at 9am on Monday 1st October 2018 and run until 10am on Monday 29th October.

Shortlisting

Based on independent screening, technical assessment and telephone interviews, successful applicants will be shortlisted.

Regional events

Shortlisted applicants will meet the judging panels at regional events in February-March 2019. At each event, three regional winners will be awarded funding of £40,000 each.

National event

Six regional winners will then go forward to the national final, which will be held in London in Spring 2019. At this showpiece event, one business will be crowned the national winner of Shell Springboard 2019.

This business will receive additional funding of £110,000 – meaning that the overall national winner of Shell Springboard 2019 will receive a total of £150,000 of no-strings-attached funding to help scale up its low-carbon innovation.

Team

The Shell Springboard programme is overseen by the Shell UK Social Investment team. Verco, an award-winning sustainability consultancy, performs assessment of applications, as well as directly engages with applicants. Shortlisted candidates are assessed by a panel of independent judges working on a voluntary basis.
