Last night saw the third regional judging event for Shell Springboard. Held at London's Living Room, the evening featured a keynote speech by Shell UK Chairman James Smith and the judging of applications from Southern England. Alan Jones, the head of the London Climate Change Agency, also spoke at the event.
The distinguished judging panel - Tim Curtis (Energy Saving Trust), Mark Kenber (The Climate Group), Ricardo Martinez-Botas (Imperial College) and Paul Ephremsen (entrepreneur) - vetted applications for carbon reduction, innovation and business credibility. From a highly competitive field, and after a full day of interviews, the judges decided on Water Innovate, Mantle Panel and Chalmor as the companies in third, second and first place respectively. All three companies will go on to the final London event on 7 March.
