    Company:
    Inspecs Innovations
    Project:
    The G-Volution Optimiser
    Year:
    2008
    Status:
    UK Finalist

Aiming to save the world (or, at least reduce transport carbon emissions) Chris Smith and Inspecs Innovations are certainly not short of ambition and such ambition has fuelled an important breakthrough in the way they think an engine can run. Their G-Volution 'Optimiser' enables an engine's management control system to be effectively mapped and managed to deliver a precise fuel mix of more than one fuel [diesel, LPG, Bio-Ethanol, Hydrogen or a combination of the above] into the engine's cylinder head delivering, with great precision, cleaner combustion and greater fuel efficiencies and performance.

Extensive testing shows a 30% reduction in diesel fuel consumption - and current fuel cost savings of 15%, whilst enhancing the engine performance. But, ambitious as always, Inspecs Innovations would like to reduce transport carbon emissions by 80% within 2 years (if they can source sustainable bio-fuels).

They might settle for the promotion of sustainable transport, but Inspecs keeps demonstrating a restlessness of scientific inquiry which does them credit.
